Exploring New Ways To Be Active

At the start of quarantine, gyms closed and people were forced to find other ways to get some exercise in. Whether you found your groove, started a new routine, or were completely lost, you no doubt saw the surge in at-home workout programs and celebrities showing off their prize-worthy home gyms. 

In times of stress and uncertainty, it is important to take care of your health. Luckily, daily activity is associated with improving your mental health as well as your physical health. It can help reduce stress and anxiety, boost your mood, increase self-confidence, and more. 

Beginning a new workout routine is challenging, and sticking to it can be even harder. Without the environment of a gym or in-person class, it can be difficult to motivate yourself. But luckily, without a gym you can avoid feelings of intimidation and explore new exercises in the comfort of your home. 

For me, exercise is great for managing my stress, but I struggle to find motivation. With all of the free workout videos advertised, I decided to challenge myself to go out of my comfort zone and try new styles of exercises. One goal of mine is to find new styles and videos that I’ll stick to, and what better time to start than now. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be trying out different workout styles and documenting my thoughts in this workout series. Follow along and maybe you’ll find a style that suits you!
