A top Iranian official said Tuesday the nation will significantly increase its uranium enrichment levels following an attack on one of its nuclear sites, according to state news agencies.

Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told the state-run Press TV that Iran has informed the International Atomic Energy Agency of plans to enrich uranium to 60% purity, below weapons grade but far higher than previous enrichment levels of 20%.

The comments were made in Vienna, where high-level negotiations over the 2015 Iran nuclear deal were set to resume this week.
